PORTLAND, Oregon (July 17, 2019) -- Lake Oswego High outgoing senior Katy Gilbert has officially capped a trifecta of girls lacrosse player of the year awards.
First, Gilbert nabbed Three Rivers League Player of the Year honors in May. Then, after leading the Lakers to their fourth consecutive Oregon Girls Lacrosse Association (OGLA) state championship appearance in June, coaches and board members tabbed her as the OGLA Player of the Year.
On Wednesday, the Oregon Sports Awards presented Gilbert with its Prep Girls Lacrosse Player of the Year award. She appeared live on NBC Sports Northwest’s “The Noe Show” with Brian Noe to accept her award. Sport Oregon and NBC Sports Northwest revealed Oregon Episcopal School senior Alex Slusher as the Prep Boys Lacrosse Player of the Year on Wednesday as well.

Sport Oregon, which manages the Oregon Sports Awards, and NBC Sports Northwest have partnered to announce each of the 2019 award winners on television and radio segments from July 8-31.
Gilbert was the most dynamic offensive player throughout the spring. She scored 55 goals and recorded 36 assists in 22 games played. Gilbert also posted a 62.5 shooting percentage and averaged 4.14 points scored per game.
She helped the Lakers win the Three Rivers League championship and finish with an 18-4 overall record. Gilbert, who heads off to Deerfield Academy this fall for a post-graduate year, will continue her lacrosse career at Dartmouth in 2020.
