Nomination Criteria
Automatic nomination:
Gatorade Player of the Year
All-American honors or participation in an All-American game (U.S. Army Armour All-American Bowl, Under Armour All-America Game)
Repeat OSAA classification Player of the Year
Consideration (must meet at least one criterion):
District Player of the Year
All-state first team honors at one position OR all-state second-team honors at two positions
USA Today High School Sports Player of the Year
Quarterbacks: at least 2,500 passing yards OR 25 total touchdowns
Running backs: at least 1,000 rushing yards OR 10 rushing touchdowns
Wide receivers and tight ends: at least 1,200 yards OR 12 total touchdowns
Defensive players (must meet two criterion): 60-or-more tackles, 8 combined tackles for loss or sacks, 5-or-more turnovers (interceptions, forced fumbles, fumble recoveries), 10-or-more pass deflections
At-large nominations:
An athlete may be nominated by a member of the Oregon Sports Awards voting panel
An athlete may be nominated by a coach, sports information director or athletic director. Nominations must be submitted to the Oregon Sports Awards team
