WINTER 2022 GIRLS SWIMMER OF THE YEAR NOMINEES
Award criteria and past winners
Katherine Adams from Lincoln finished the year with an All-American time as the 100 breaststroke champion, while finishing second, third, and fourth in the 200 IM, 200 freestyle relay, and 400 freestyle relay respectively.
Hazel Derr from Jefferson was named to the USA Swimming Scholastic All-American team. She also finished number two in the state for the season with a state championship in the 100-yard backstroke.
Helena Jones from Wilsonville finished as the top-ranked junior at this year’s state meet. She took home first in the 50 and 100-yard freestyle events, with 5A state records and championships in those events.
Fay Lustria from Westview swam All-American times in the 200 individual medley and 100 butterfly events. She finished first in all events that she competed in this season, while also setting classification records in three of the four events.

Award criteria and past winners
Hodge Dauler from Catlin Gabel finished the season as state champion in the 500-yard freestyle and 400-yard freestyle relay.
Diego Nosack from Jesuit was the second-ranked swimmer in the state. Diego qualified for the 2022 Futures and 2022 Summer Junior Nationals with All-American times in the 500 freestyle and 200 IM. Diego is committed to swim at Northwestern.
Charley Page-Jones from Churchill was a three-time state champion in the 50 free and the 100 fly events, breaking the state record in the latter. At the Speedo Sectional, Charley finished first in the 100 fly and third in the 100 free and 50 free.
Marcus Reyes-Gentry from Crater finished the season atop the 5A rankings and he was the state champion and record-holder for the 200-yard individual medley. Marcus also broke the all-time state record in the 100 backstroke with a time of 47.45.

Award criteria and past winners
Kira Kerr from La Pine earned championships at the Adrian Irwin Memorial Invitational, Best of the West Meet, and Culver Girls Invitational. Kira finished 34-2 on the season, culminating with a state championship.
Ayana Medina from Hillsboro is the reigning state champion at 125 pounds and currently ranks 14th in the country. Medina was a three-time state champion and four-time state placer, all with an 82-9 career record. Ayana went undefeated in her junior and senior years.
Destiny Rodriguez from West Linn currently ranks second in the country with an 18-0 record in the 152-pound weight class. Ranked 14th nationally pound-for-pound, she has secured the regional and state championships in each of her first three years.
Haley Vann from Cleveland ranked first in the state in the 120-pound weight class, and 8th in the country at 117. Haley was a two-time state champion and four-time All-American with a 59-6 career record so far.

Award criteria and past winners
James Rowley from Crescent Valley was a four-time 5A state champion, including this year in the 182-pound weight class. He finished the season with a 30-2 record.
Gage Singleton from Roseburg was the top-ranked Oregon wrestler at 106 pounds. He was a two-time district and state champion, finishing this season with a 42-3 record, including 34 pins, with 13 of them coming in under 30 seconds.
Nash Singleton from Roseburg was the 2022 state champion at 132 pounds. A three-time state champion and four-time district champion, the All-American finished with a 43-2 record, including 33 pins and five first-round pins at state.
Gabe Whisenhunt from Crescent Valley finished the season with a 31-2 record. Gabe was a four-time state champion and Fargo All-American on the heels of a first-place finish at the Doc Buchanan Tournament.
WINTER 2022 GIRLS BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE YEAR NOMINEES
Award criteria and past winners
Jazzy Davidson from Clackamas earned ESPN recognition as a 2025 Top Talent and was named Oregon Gatorade Player of the Year. Jazzy averaged 21 points and 8 rebounds per game, leading her team to a 27-3 record.
Donovyn Hunter from South Medford was the only OSAA unanimous First-Team 6A All-Tournament selection at state this year. Donovyn was the Southwest Conference Player of the Year, averaging 24 points, five rebounds, and five assists per game. MaxPreps named Hunter the Oregon Player of the Year and ranked her as one of the top-25 juniors nationally.
Sage Kramer from Philomath finished the season with 2,105 points, including an amazing 51-point game. Sage averaged 24 points and nearly 10 rebounds per game, on 51-percent shooting for the Warriors this last season.
Lainey Spear from Beaverton led her team to a 6A state championship with a 26-1 record. As Metro League Player of the Year, Lainey averaged 15 points, seven rebounds, three steals, and one block per game. She also earned First-Team All-Tournament honors at state.
WINTER 2022 BOYS BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE YEAR NOMINEES
Award criteria and past winners
Caden Harris from Summit was named First-Team All-Tournament at state and First-Team All-Mountain Valley Conference. He averaged 16.5 points and just over seven rebounds per game on 63-percent shooting this year.
Adrian Mosley from Grant finished the season averaging 22 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists per game while shooting 33-percent from three. Mosley was named First-Team All-League and PIL Player of the Year.
Malik Ross from Tualatin was the Defensive Player of the Year in the Three Rivers League and a unanimous First-Team All-Tournament selection at state. He led the Wolves to a 6A state championship, averaging 13 points and four rebounds per game.
Jackson Shelstad from West Linn ranks 52nd in the nation for the Class of 2023. He was named Gatorade and MaxPreps Player of the Year. Jackson averaged 27 points, 5 boards, 5 assists, and 4 steals per game.
